65A District Court in Saint Johns, MI
The Clinton County District Court has jurisdiction over all criminal adult misdemeanors in which punishment does not exceed one year and preliminary examinations in felony charges. In addition to handling all civil litigation that does not exceed $25,000, the District Court handles garnishments, land contract and mortgage foreclosures, eviction proceedings, and small claims cases. All vehicle code and statute/ordinance violations taking place in Clinton County are adjudicated in the 65A District Court as well.
The Honorable Richard D. Wells currently sits as the court’s only judge. The 65A District Court is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 4:45pm, and the phone lines are open until 5:00pm.
