66th Judicial District Court


The 66th District Court of Shiawassee County is located in the Courts and Health Building at 110 E. Mack Street in Corunna, Michigan.

The Honorable Ward L. Clarkson currently resides as the court’s Chief Judge. The Honorable Terrance P. Dignan serves as the other district court judge.


The operations of the District Court include the adjudication of all criminal adult misdemeanors in which punishment does not exceed one year, and the completion of preliminary examinations for felony matters. In addition to maintaining exclusive jurisdiction over all civil litigation up to $25,000, the 66th District Court handles land contract and mortgage foreclosures, eviction proceedings, garnishments, and small claims cases up to $3,000. All vehicle code and statute/ordinance violations that occur in Shiawassee County are resolved by the 66th District Court as well.
