Mason, Michigan

Mason is a city in Michigan located in Ingham County. It is named after the state's first governor, Stevens T. Mason. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 8,252. According to The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Malcolm X spent part of his childhood in Mason. In 1939 he was placed in a juvenile home in Mason and completed 8th grade at Mason High School.
